Why Does Hip Hop Care About The Grammys? (We Shouldn't)

As a Hip Hop fan I do not really care if my favourite artist wins a Grammy or not, winning that award does not define their career or ability as an artist. An institution like the Grammys and a lot of others don’t really care for Hip Hop or actually believe it is a genre in its own right, but due to its current popularity and huge marketing power have decided to jump aboard and that’s all it is. So don’t get upset, don’t be cursing Macklemore, just put on your favourite Hip Hop album and listen to why you don’t need anyone to tell why it’s the album/artist of the year in your eyes.
